It is always a privilige and learning experience to collaborate with fellow survivors and allies to educate sector professionals! As a member of the Survivor Advisory Council with the Collaborative to End Human Trafficking,
I had the recent opportunity to co-lead a session at the 2nd annual Northeast Ohio Human Trafficking Conference held at the University of Akron Law School. My colleague and I created a training on Labor Trafficking; Justice for victims of a pandemic hidden in plain sight. We taught on and discussed the various components and indicators of labor trafficking through evidence based research and also addressed the impacts and needs of survivors.
I am filled with gratitude for all of the people that recognize that human trafficking is not the problem of just one county, one city, one state, or one country. It is imperative to understand that in order to really serve survivors well and to work towards the eradication of human trafficking means that we must all come together to learn from one another and collaborate and that no one person can do it alone.
